Day 1 Arrival Shanghai

Arrive in Shanghai, Paris of the Oriental, and you will be met at the airport and transferred to your hotel. Free at leisure for the rest of the day.

Day 2 Shanghai

Jade Buddha Temple, Yuyuan Garden, Oriental Pearl TV Tower, the Bund, Nanjing Road

Meals: Breakfast, Lunch

Today, enjoy your full-day city tour that starts with a visit to the Jade Buddha Temple, then move to the Shanghai silk museum before a visit to Yuyuan Garden, a Chinese classic garden in the city downtown, and the nearby old street. Next have a bird-eye view of the city after ascending Oriental Pearl TV Tower, which is the third tallest TV and radio tower in the World. After the tour, you can take a nice walk along the Bund, Shanghai's famed waterfront promenade, and Nanjing Road, China's No. 1 commercial street for souvenir shopping. Today if you are interested you can take an Acrobatics Show as the optional activity.

Day 3 Shanghai – Xi'an

Zhujiajiao Water Town, Transfer service to airport

Meals: Breakfast, Lunch
Accommodation: In Xi'an

 

In the morning, our local guide will pick you up from your hotel in the center of Shanghai, and the tour starts when all the clients are picked up. We will first drive to Zhujiajiao Water Town for a visit, which takes about 1-1.5 hours for driving.  In the water town, you will enjoy the unique old bridges across bubbling streams, small rivers shaded by willow trees, and houses with courtyards attached all transport people who have been living amidst the bustle and hustle of the modern big city to a brand-new world full of antiquity, leisure, and tranquility.  You will also have a chance to take a short boating trip along the waterway. Lunch will be arranged at a local Chinese restaurant. In the afternoon, transfer to the airport to catch your flight to Xi'an. The local guide will meet you at the airport exit and transfer you to the hotel.

Day 4 Xian

Terracotta Warriors, Bell Tower, Gao's Courtyard, Muslim Quarter

Accommodation: In Xi'an

 

In the morning, our guide will meet you at the hotel lobby and start to explore the Ancient city.

 

At first, we will drive to  Terracotta Warriors and explore one of the world's most important archaeological finds, with troops, horses, and carriages in battle formation. A shuttle bus will be arranged for your convenience. Then you will have a chance to visit a pottery figurine factory, where you can learn how to make a pottery figurine.

 

In the afternoon, drive back downtown, and visit the Bell Tower, which is the largest bell tower in structure and shape and the best-preserved one in China. Then visit Gao's Courtyard, which is a wonderful choice for you to appreciate ancient residences and explore the local culture of paper-cutting and shadow puppetry. Continue to walk around Muslim Quarter and enjoy your shopping time there and you can also challenge the various local snacks.

 

Back to the hotel, en route, you can plan for the night activities with your local guide, such as Tang Dynasty Show with Dinner.

Day 5 Xian - Beijing

Ancient City Wall, Wild Goose Pagoda and north square, Take high speed train to Beijing

Meals: Breakfast & Lunch
Accommodation: In Beijing

 

This morning, you will have enough time to pack up and check out. Our guide will meet you up at the hotel lobby and have a one-day leisure tour in Xian before leaving for Beijing.

 

Then we will visit the Ancient City Wall, which represents one of the oldest and best-preserved Chinese city walls. Bicycles or sightseeing carts will be arranged on the wall to go around. After that visit the Big Wild Goose Pagoda, and you will have a chance to watch the North Plaza fountain show.

 

Take the high-speed train to Beijing (5 hours). Your Beijing tour guide will wait for you at the railway station exit and help you to transfer to the hotel.

Day 6 Beijing

Tiananmen Square, Forbidden City, Jingshan Park, Temple of Heaven, Panjiayuan Antique Market

Meals: Breakfast & Lunch
Accommodation: In Beijing

 

Our guide will meet you up at the hotel lobby and start to explore the historical city of Beijing. You will reach the Tian’anmen Square, the largest public square in the world. Walk through the square and visit today’s highlight: Forbidden City, the largest and most complete ancient imperial palace in the world. Hike to Jingshan Park, which gives a nice panoramic view of the Forbidden City at the top of Coal Hill. Lunch at a local restaurant, Chinese local food.

 

In the afternoon, visit the Temple of Heaven, which was used to pray for harvest by the emperors. It is China's existing largest structure for sacrifice to heaven. Shopping time at  Panjiayuan Antique Market. Back to the hotel, en route, you can plan for the night show or the Peking duck dinner with your guide and ask for suggestions.

Day 7 Beijing

Mutianyu Great Wall, Olympic Park, The exterior Bird Nest and Water Cube

Meals: Breakfast & Lunch
Accommodation: In Beijing

 

Our guide will meet you up at the hotel lobby and start to explore the Great Wall. Drive to Mutianyu Great Wall, which section is more popular among foreign visitors. Upon arrival, you can choose to hike on the Great Wall, or take the cable car up and walk around. Lunchtime at a local restaurant. Drive back to Beijing downtown, while you can take a nap in the car.

 

Visit the exterior Bird Nest and Water Cube, the amazing architectures that were built for Beijing Olympic Games. After that, you will experience Chinese tea at the tea house. Back to the hotel, en route, you can plan for the night activities, such as foot massage, Houhai night bars, and Sanlitun bar street. If you desire, you can also enjoy the Kung Fu Show tonight as your optional activity.

Day 8 Beijing - Ulaanbaatar

Free and fly to Ulaanbaatar

Meals: Breakfast
Accommodation: In Ulaanbaatar

 

After breakfast and enjoy your leisure time before transferring to the airport for your flight to Ulaanbaatar. Hotel check-out time should be before 12:00 p.m.

 

Arrival in Ulaanbaatar at Chinggis Khan airport or train station, our local tour guide will meet you and transfer you to Hotel. The hotel check-in is after 2p.m, Free time, and rest to adjust for the time zone.

Day 9 Ulaanbaatar –Hustai National Park (120 km, 2 hours' drive)

Mongolian Nomadic Show, Hustai National Park

Meals: Breakfast, Lunch, Dinner
Accommodation: In the Local Tourist Camp

 

After breakfast and check out, we will drive to Tavan Tolgoi Hills and valleys to enjoy the Mongolian Nomadic Show, which will present the daily lifestyle of nomad family and Mongolian culture. After the show, you will drive to Hustai National Park, where herds of wild horse Przevalskii are re-acclimatizing since 1991, Lunch in a restaurant at the national park, and explore wild horses, whose Mongolian name is Takhi. Visit natural museum displaying about wild horses and the national park area including flora and fauna.

Day 10 Hustai National Park– Kharakhorum (100 km, 1-2 hours' drive)

Kharakhorum – the ruins of Great Mongolian Empire, Erdene Zuu Monastery Museum, Kharakhorum History Museum

Meals: Breakfast, Lunch, Dinner
Accommodation: In the Local Tourist Camp

 

In the morning, set off and drive to Kharakhorum town. It was the Kharakhorum capital of the Great Mongolian Empire in the 13th century, which was founded by Chinggis Khan in 1220.

 

In the afternoon, explore Erdene Zuu Monastery Museum - First Biggest Buddhist Center in the medieval ages and it was closed and badly damaged in1930's, Explore Turtle Rock on the south hill, and Visit Kharakhorum History Museum, the archaeological excavation site in Kharakhorum town. Near the merchant's street, you will have a chance to see the eagles and hawks and to be photographed with them. Mongolian Cuisine-Barbecue picnic will be arranged as your dinner.

Day 11 Kharakhorum – Ogii Lake & Wetlands Nature Reserve

Tureg Rock Inscription Monument, Ugii Lake & Wetlands Nature Reserve

Meals: Breakfast, Lunch, Dinner
Accommodation: In the Local Tourist Camp

 

Enjoy breakfast at the camp and drive to Khoshoo Tsaidam on the bank of the Orkhon River to explore the Tureg Rock Inscription Monument about the Kultigen King of the Tureg tribe and battling, which is about 50 km from Kharakhorum and needs about a 1-hour drive. This Khoshoo Tsaidam area was ruins of Ancient Mongol-Tureg city, which were very strong in 6-8AD

 

Then continue driving to Ugii Lake. Enjoy your free time and have lunch. In the afternoon visit to Wetlands Nature Reserve’s information and research center first, and then observe birds on the shore of the lake with binoculars.

Day 12 Ugii Lake – Ulaanbaatar (380 km, 8-9 hours' drive)

Transfer back to Ulaanbaatar, Ancient city ruins

Meals: Breakfast, Lunch, Dinner
Accommodation: In the local hotel of Ulaanbaatar

 

Drive to Ulaanbaatar city (380 km & 8-9 hours driving on paved road).  On the way explore the ancient city ruins dated to 11 and 17 centuries. Box lunch in open air. After dinner and transfer to the hotel. Enjoy leisure time at night.

Day 13 Ulaanbaatar

Chinggis Khan Statue, Memorial Monument Rock Inscription for King Tonikuk, Terelj National Park

Meals: Breakfast, Lunch, Dinner
Accommodation: In the local hotel of Ulaanbaatar

 

Pick up from the hotel after breakfast, and drive to Chinggis Khan Statue (80km drive on paved road) on the Tsonjin Boldog valley, which is historical place for Chinggis Khan.

 

Drive to Ovor Janjivlan Valley and visit to Memorial Monument Rock Inscription for King Tonikuk, from Blue Tureg tribe. The Monument is dated to 600-750AD. Then drive to Terelj National Park. On the way you will see the sacred mountain and sacred place for the sun worshipping ceremony according shamanism, The place and ovoo is the main points for shamans to gather on 22,June and do ceremony for the sun.

 

Arrival at the Juulchin Bayalag tourist camp, and have a lunch at the camp restaurant,

 

After lunch you will enjoy visiting to Buddhist Meditation temple Aryabala in granite rock mountains. Explore Turtle shaped Giant Natural Rock. By 6p.m you will drive back to Ulaanbaatar.

Day 14 Ulaanbaatar, Departure

Gandantegchilen Monastery, Square of Chinggis Khan, Friendship Monument on Zaisan hill, Free time for shopping, transfer to the airport

Meals: Breakfast, Lunch

 

In the morning, if time allows, we will take a city tour including visits to Gandantegchilen Monastery- the Present biggest monastery, which houses for giant standing Buddha statue. Visit the main Square of Chinggis Khan, the Friendship Monument on Zaisan Hill, Free time for shopping in the main street shops, art shops, and antique shops.

 

Transfer to the Chinggis Khan airport for departure to your next destination.
