Kuensel Phodrang (Buddha Point) is an iconic site in Thimphu, Bhutan, best known for the majestic Buddha Dordenma statue. How to get to Kuensel Phodrang?
Getting to Thimphu: Firstly, travelers need to reach Thimphu, the capital of Bhutan. You can do this by flying to Paro Airport and then taking a car for about 1.5 hours to reach Thimphu.
To Kuensel Phodrang: From the center of Thimphu, Kuensel Phodrang can be reached by cab or private vehicle. It is about 6 kilometers from the city center. As it is located on a hillside, the driving route may be winding and safe driving is required.
When is the best time to go?
The best time to visit Bhutan is usually during the spring and fall seasons (March to May and September to November), when the weather is mild and the scenery is at its most stunning. Summer (June to August) may see rain, while winter (December to February) sees cooler temperatures and possible snow in some areas.
