Welcome to Dushanbe! Dushanbe is the biggest city of Tajikistan. Upon arrival at the airport, you will be greeted by our local tour guide and transferred to check in your hotel. After enjoying the characteristic local lunch, our Tajikistan private tours will start with National Museum of Antiquities, Botanical Garden and Victory Park.

In the morning, the guide will meet you at the hotel. Then we will arrive at one of the country's landmarks - Hisor Fortress, where you can overlook the wonderful landscapes of Hisor Town. Afterwards, return to the downtown area. Here, we will first explore Rudaki Park where the statue of the great Persian poet Rudaki is situated. Next, stop to take pictures at the scenic spots around including National Library, White House, National state seal, House of parliament, Statue of Ismoil Somoni, Ministry of Inner Affairs, and Dushanbe Flagpole. After lunch, you can still have a tour in the National Museum and Navruz Palace. Finally, we will stroll along the Asian Bazaar. In the evening, the traditional delicious dinner will be arranged for you.

Hisor Fortress

Accommodation: Iskanderkul Lake

For the 3th day, we will visit Iskanderkul Lake at an altitude of 2,195 meters (7,201 feet). It is a famous holiday resort in Fann Mountains which is 140 kilometers (87 miles) north to Dushanbe. Then the guide will lead you to hike to the Iskanderkul Waterfall, called Fann Niagara by the locals. When standing at the viewing platform, you can feel the strong power of the waterfall. On the way there, we will pass by Snake Lake where plenty of snakes inhabit because of the warm water. Then we will return to Iskanderkul Lake for lunch. The afternoon is your own free time. You can ask the guide to accompany you to hike around or enjoy a boat ride in the lake at your own expense. Night, you will rest in a local guesthouse.

The guide will lead you to admire the charming scenery of Zarafshan Valley and Alauddin Lakes in the morning. You will be impressed by the rugged mountain trail, juniper forests and crystal lakes. Then, you will arrive at Penjikent in 5 hours. After arrival, have lunch and take a short break at first. In the afternoon, you will visit the Sarazm ancient city whose history can date back to 3,000BC. Then follow the guide to the Republican Museum of History and local Lore of Rudaki and famous ruins of ancient Penjikent. Finally, you will spend some time wandering in a local bazaar.

Alauddin Lakes

In the 5th day, we will set out to Shing Valley. After about 1.5 hours' drive, we will arrive at the 4th lake of the Seven Lakes. Then enjoy a 1.5-hour hiking tour to know more about the local life in the remote mountains. Afterwards, you will be led to the 6th lake and hike to the 7th lake accompanied by the guide. After Seven Lakes exploration, we will eat lunch and return to Penjikent.

The destination of the 6th day is Khujand via Pass Shahriston 3,378 meters (11,083 feet) above sea level. In midway, we are going to stop over at Istaravshan, the important trade center on the ancient Silk Road. Here, the guide will lead you to go sightseeing Fortress Mug Teppe and Kuk Gumbaz Mosque, show you around the local bazaar and meet a master craftsman. Afterwards, we will reach Khujand in 1.5 hours and check in a hotel.

After breakfast, we will enjoy a full day city tour in Khujand. The first stop is the Historical Local Lore Museum of Archeology and Fortification. It was built based on the former site of east city wall in 8 - 10th century. You will see the pictures, costumes and items concerning the history and folk customs of Khujand and the development of the country. The most impressive exhibition may be the mosaic scrolls made of natural marbles telling the whole legendary life of Alexander the Great. The next stop is Mausoleum of Sheik Muslekheddin. It is a large religious architectural complex in the city center which is named after the great poet and governor Muslekheddin in 12th century. Also, we will explore the Panjshanbe Market nearby. After having lunch, we will head to Arbob Cultural Palace which combines perfectly the European architectural style and folk paintings in Central Asia and finally pay a visit to Qairoqum water reservoir.

For the 8th day, we will take the car for 7 hours back to Dushanbe from Khujand. Along the way, we will pass by Shahriston and Anzob pass and Isticlol Tunnel. The scenery is attractive.
