The British army deployed defensive artillery in Sentosa Island, pointing to the south, ready to resist the Japanese attack from the sea. However, Japanese attacked and occupied Singapore from the north. In 1967, British returned the island back to Singapore government. After a year, the Singapore government decided to develop it to be a domestic attraction for holidays. And according to the suggestions of the public, this island was renamed Sentosa Island, which means peaceful in Malay.

Cable Car: Take the Cable Car from the Harbour Front Tower 2.
Buses: Take Bus No 30, 65, 80, 97, 100, 131, 145, 166, 855, and get off at the Telok Blangah Road, then take the Sentosa Bus to the Sentosa Island.
Subway: Take North-East Line and get off at the Harbour Front Station, then take the Sentosa Bus to the Sentosa Island.
